Fishin rod rack
I want to make something for my rods so they don't get messed up in the bed and I am eventually going to get a hard cover for bed so I don't know where to mount

Re: Fishin rod rack
here is what i WOULD do and ive thought about this many times lol the bedrails offer alot of protection from unforsee circumstances haha and if you will have a cover thats fine
so id mount these under the bedrail, a eye hook (or j hook) that will fit the tip and then a u bolt to hold the butt of the pole. that should be all it takes because it wont move forward or backward.
you can also do something like a foam mount similar to what i just described

Re: Fishin rod rack
only if your pole is longer than 6 feet.... if they are longer, you can get the bed cover and mount them diagonally corner to corner, might be able to get a 7 foot rod in there

Re: Fishin rod rack
Sounds like it from what he described. The other option is use something like what we do for our spey rods up in BC. These work pretty good. Just watch out for low hanging trees

you can also mount it to the top of the bedrails and not have to worry too much about length

Re: Fishin rod rack
Some of the speyrods we use up north are 14-16'. My go to rod is 13'4" ... that's a little far back from the bed to have a rod hanging haha! Especially if it's an $800 rod!!!

Re: Fishin rod rack
something else you could do, you would have to modify it to fit your own needs because mine was made for a bike lol but you can have something holding the butt at the end of the bed at the cab and then a "rack system" like i made for my bikes....im sure something like that would work as well
remember, this is for bikes lol

Re: Fishin rod rack
I was going to originally use the overhead rack mounts on the bed to mount it
