Default 1998 Mazda B2500

What's going on everyone,

I'm a newbie to this site. I've had my truck for about 8 years and always wanted to fix it up but never knew where to start. I've been looking for things like headlights and, taillights, and/or a grille for my truck but it is almost impossible to find any aftermarket pieces.

Does anyone know what year Ranger or Mazda body styles are compatible with my 1998 so I can find so exterior styling pieces?

Thanks

Unfortunately, Mazda's get the short end of the stick. Especially when it comes to grilles, headlights, corners, and taillights. All the things your after.

Check out www.certifit.com and see what their catalog has to offer. Anything listed for a ranger but the front and rear body, will fit your mazda. I believe Mazda guys can put on a 95+ Explorer bumper and it'll fit and look right. That can't be said about the Rangers.

hmmm i thought u could do a complete front end swap from a ranger on to the mazda as long as the trucks were the same body style. i hurd the radiator support was the same but dont quote me on that

my buddie has a '98 B3000 that had a smashed up front clip, he swapped it over to ranger sheetmetal.

things we found differant - Fenders (mazda's have an extra body line above the wheel), the grille, corner lights, and header panel are also all differant. the mazda bed is differant, and has differant tail lights. if it's an ext. cab, the doors also have an extra trim line around the windows.

parts that are a direct swap are: the hood will swap with any a '98-'03 ranger hood, the bumper is a direct swap as long as you have the brackets, tailgate, rear bumper, i also heard headlights from a '98+ ranger are a direct swap. reg. cab doors also swap.

parts that will bolt on but not match would be ranger fenders, ext. cab doors, and ranger fender flares (for a 4x4).

The exterior is where your biggest problems will be, with some exceptions like windows here and there. Mechanically, you will find a lot more available for it. The details will need to be paid attention to though. Certain plugs on the wire harness may be different but as far as bolting, so an alternator or a cylinder head on the engine should be identical.
