My old ranger was a '01 and I ran the tails that Jp7 has(APC)....but I added another bulb to it so I don't have an empty spot. I had the extra bulb wired into just the running lamp hot. Looked really cool having two red blobs of light driving around. You can do it like that or just hook it up just like the other bulb...brake/turn and running light. Just sayin'...your not limited to 2 bulb taillights.

And ^^^ is what I've got...the same LED's in a '06+ taillight. Except mine aren't shaded. I'm sort of a 'euro tail hater' and 'niteshade hater' nowadays...so I suggest 06+ tails unshaded. lol. The light projects in a circle which is cool compared to your 01-05 tails that projects a big square blob. haha.

Thanks! I'm not really a fan of them either. These, IMO, were just the least cheesy of the different styles available.

If I didn't get black-housing headlights, I probably would still be running the stock tails. But I didn't want to do one without the other. And I'm not a fan of the "night shade" stuff either.

Here's some links to the lights I have. At the time I got mine, I saw the exact same lights were made by a few different companies.

They are available in 4 colors. Chrome, gunmetal, "carbon fiber", and black.

THanks I think im gonna go with your tail lights. Im not a big fan of Euro's or Shaded but they do look good in your ranger. I have the gunmetal color ranger or gray whichever it is called; but which color do you think would look best with my truck? Black, Gunmetal or "Carbon fiber" lol?

Here's my LED tails, on a DSG (Dark Shadow Grey) truck. They aren't the cheapest route though.

If you want to go with the other style, I would recommend getting them in either "gunmetal" or carbon fiber, since both would be a pretty good match to the truck. What I like about mine, is that from 10 feet away, they almost disappear into the paint.

So those are gunmetal? Is this close to the same color as yours?

^^^Yes, those are the same color as mine. They are actually a smoked lens over chrome. "Gunmetal" is a dark metallic gray, similar to the color of our trucks.

It's a sharp tail light, it would look even better with an L1224R.
