So I need a new brush guard...
My old brush guard is shot. SMOKED a HUGE deer the other night and somehow it destroyed the brush guard beyond any sort of repair. Thanks to the guard all that happened was a couple scrapes and a cracked headlight. Im glad i had it because otherwise the dammagae would have been done to my truck.
Its a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. It was on the truck when i bought it so i dont know what brand it was, but after comparing pictures, i think it was a Weston?
Im having a hard time finding a replacement that wont cost me $500-600. Also having a hard time finding one that is compatible with a 2000. %90 of the guards i find say 2001 and newer. Is that ACTUALLY the case or will they fit my 2000?
Want to replace it ASAP, any help is appreciated. Doesnt necessarily have to be the same as my old one so offer up any suggestion you have...

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
look for used ones or other deals. there was a thread here recently about an ebay ad selling hunter brush guards for like 200 shipped. as for them fitting, anything 98+ is the same.

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
I just put a Hunter on my truck last week. I paid $250 shipped directly from them. Seems high quality and fit pretty good. Mines an 11' which they didn't have listed either but when I called them, they said no problem they have one to fit. Here's the website:

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
not to me theyre not. I use my truck as a truck. not for show. Its got scratches, dings and scuffs and thats just the way i like it. Its dirty %75 of the time and i love it. The hunter guards look like the same exact thing as the Westin. i dont plan on mounting lights or anything. Simple bolt and go is all i want. Now as long as i get the compatibility confirmed, im buying a Hunter.

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
Baller - Thanks for the kind words, i'm over it tho. As they say, shit happens. Time to move on! i think ill order some bed rail caps as well. Recommendations for caps? Looking for something effective, but unintrusive/low profile.
I guess ill use this little mishap as an excuse to buy a couple more accessories!

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
I assume if you're suggesting it, it will also fit a ranger? Know his user name or got a link to his thread?

I bought one on Craigslist out of state and instead of paying outrageous shipping I had him put it on a grey hound bus. A lot cheaper

Re: So I need a new brush guard...
So i emailed about the hunter guards and the compatibility with a 2000 Ranger and they said theirs are only for 2001 and newer. The 2000s have different bolt patterns?
