98+ all use the same frame. And I know atleast 98-03 bumpers interchange. and fwiw, the explorer frames are the same as the 98+ rangers starting in 95.

The bottom bracket for mine had 2 attachment points: There was an existing hole through both sides of the frame rail at the front which took a 4 1/2" long bolt all the way through. The second point involved removing the nut that was threaded onto the bumper stud. The hole for the bracket went over the stud and the factory nut was reattached to hold it in place. So basically, the bracket was an L shape that fastened on the outboard side of the frame and to the bumper. I had to trim a 1/2" x 2" piece from the bottom of my valance where the bracket came through.

Is hunter wrong about their own product I was pretty sure 98 and newer were all compatible? Am I wrong? I'm at a crossroads right now... Wait until I can find something else, or buy a Hunter guard and hope it fits...?

If I can get a picture of how mine attaches, would it help you at all? Thinking maybe you could get under your truck and find out if the bumper stud and hole in the frame is there. Then you should be golden.

Alright, here's a few pics. Kinda hard to see but I hope it helps.

This one shows the passenger side where it comes under the valance:

This one is passenger side, looking up from under the bumper. You can see the bumper stud and nut on the right, and the bolt through the frame on the left.

This one is the same view but further away which shows it a little better.

Prolly so, but I bet the $400 Westin doesn't mount any better. I saved enough money buying the Hunter that I was able to buy some decent lights. It's a BRUSH guard. Not meant to shove cows or Chevys off the road. I weigh 220 lbs and I can grab the bar and yank as hard as I can and it just moves the whole truck.

Thanks for posting those! I'll compare tonight and post an educated verdict. Fingers crossed that they're the same!
