Default My tyres are rubbing me up the wrong way!

Hey All,

My truck as some larger than standard wheels on it, but they rub when i go full lock either side, i was wondering what options i would have on stopping them.

would raising it do much? and what effects would it have on things?

Wheel Spacers .. good or bad?

or would changing my tyres to smaller ones on the same size rim do it?

AND finally what would be the cheapest and most effective way?

Cheers

All these ways you mentioned would work.. Obviously smaller tires would help... A real cheap way is to get like 1/2 inch spacers.. But i know a ton of people will tell you not to get them.. If there put on right and you dont get a big spacer like more than an inch i think you'll be fine.

Tire*

Yeah give us some more info on your truck. I know when I turn mine all the way to the left it makes a groaning sound, I don't think it's rubbing I think it is the power steering pump straining itself. But I might be wrong.

I suspect you have like a 31 or so on stock rims and when you turn the tire is grabbing the anit saw bar. But, until we know what your truck is and what size tire, im shooting blanks

Hey, I have a uk model 1999 single cab 2wd. I think the standard sizes are 14inch rims with 205/75S/4C 14 inch But i have 255/75/15 inch rims .. so alot larger than normal.

Any more info needed?

if i was to higher the truck what would i need to do?

cheers

Dude, honestly your better off putting smaller stock tires on it, its a single cab 2wd, lifting it would be pointless.

U could keep the same "tyres" but get different rims as well..... I have the same issue but to solve it I'm getting rims with a different backspacing then my stock rims so the tires will stick farther out so I will be able to stop scraping

Lifting it won't fix your rubbing issue, changing your backspacing to move the wheels out further will help.
