Default Quarter window types

So some criminal smashed the quarter window glass (the small rectangular window on the extended cab door) out on my 2001 edge and stole about $10 worth of stuff from of my truck. Naturally I would like to replace the window (and torture the offender). Estimates for the repair started at about $380 and went up from there. I would like to do it myself, possibly with a used piece of glass. My first visit to a wrecking yard made it apparent that there are many styles of window available for Rangers in this era. Mine is (was) a stationary window with a dark privacy tint. There seem to have been two types of stationary privacy used on the Edge models. One type (the type on my truck) has no visible gasket or seal around the edge of the window. The gasket sits behind the glass set back from the edge about an inch and a half. The second type has a gasket that is visible around the edge of the window. There are many available on ebay for around $50 but most say they wil fit any ranger between 1998 and 2011 and I suspect this to be false. A call to the local Ford dealership didn't really clear things up for me. They suggested that I need part no. F87Z1329701BA. What do I need to be asking for to make sure I get the right window and where is the best place to look for one?
Thanks y'all.

I think the difference is the four door used the glass with no visible gasket and the non four door used the one with the visible gasket. I say this because I have a four door with no visible gasket and my son has and SuperCab non four door and his has a visible gasket.

Wow, under further investigation it looks like you are right. Don't know why this wasn't obvious from the beginning. Thanks!

You could call Ford and they should be able to give you their part number based on your VIN
