Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
Trying to find out what I would want. I am a general contractor, never been able to move around much because I haven't had a truck in a while. I like ladder racks because they go over the cab. But I don't like the way they look. With the Headache Rack, you can get a rack for the back and only use it when you need it. I have not found a Headache rack that I liked yet!! Please give me some Ideas or post some pictures so I can get some ideas.
Thank you

Re: Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
I sell both System One and TracRac at work. Both great racks, but I push the TracRacs. If you go with the TracRac, you can either slide the rear overhead rack forward, or remove one or both in a matter of a couple of minutes. Plus-no drilling into your truck, base rails mount using expansion plugs in the stake pockets. I sell more TracRacs than anything now.

Re: Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
Ladder/Pipe rack for me! Need it to carry 20' lengths of pipe flat, and still get into an underground garage for parking in San Francisco!

Re: Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
I would go with the headache rack style and one for the back. But, I have seen and have had ladder racks that did not go over the cab.

Re: Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
See I need to be able to put 10' - 12' boards on the truck. But I like the headache racks over the later racks. I think I will have to custom build one. Try to make a headache Rack that will go over the cab. then have a removable back rack!! I just don't want it to look like S**T! Then put some lights on it!! I like the Lights so you can see what you are doing if you get stuck in the dark!!

Re: Ladder Racks or Headache Racks
I have a new Idea, Not sure if it will work!! What about using a roof rack, Kinda like a shot basket, then I can put lights on the front and back. And still make a removable rack for the back. Use that like a ladder rack!! Would that work?? I don't know how much wight i could put on the top of the cab though!!
----------
I do like this.. That will be the one I go with if I go with a headache rack!!
