Default I'm lazy and I need a windshield

I know... SEARCH... Ok I'm lazy right now, but I'll do my share. Anyone know a cheap place to get a NEW windshield? JY will be 2nd choice, would like to have new, clear glass if possible. The chip turned into a crack today, time to replace.

Depending on what kind of coverage you have your insurance might cover it. They just covered everything on my Focus. I have full coverage b/c it's still on a lean.

Ya insurance will cover 100% if you have full coverage. I would look in the yellow pages for a car glass shop. Anything over the internet will be expensive to ship

Just filed a 5k claim on my Escape (I'll post up pics later), so I'm trying to go out of pocket on this one. Really just looking for company names that some may have used in the past. Guy at the bodyshop will be my choice to put it in so, I'm just looking for the glass supplier. Again thanks all!

safelite auto glass, carlite auto glass

if a body shop is gonna do it and you know the people pretty good there. They will be able to get you a better price than just you calling the company and ordering it.

A local company by the name of binswanger glass did mine, about 20 bucks cheaper than safelite. It was $207. He came to my house, I gave him the key, and watched him do replace my glass. Took 30 minutes.

Edit: You could also call up glass doctor, they told me they have a price match type thing there. AND a lifetime warranty on their glass.

safelite, guardian, ppg, pilkington, mygrant are all automotive replacement glass warehouses in my area of portland oregon and most of those locations should have nationwide locations. carlite is a manufacturer(for ford), NOT a distributer.

dude....

just check out your insurance. most plans have it covered with little to no deductiable. And you won't ever pull a glue-in windshield without breaking it at a jy or at home or whatever.
