I'm currently trying to find a tailgate with little success. does anyone know which years are interchangeable ?

anything 93-present should work tailgate wise, im not sure if the stepside is different than the regular bed tailgate wise

i think the stepside tailgates are narrower.

other than that, '93- 11 ranger should fit. i think a '94-11 mazda B series tailgate will work too.

Yes the stepside tailgates are more narrow than the fleetside.

Since you're truck is older you can use any year, just keep in mind the styling differences (for example '06+ emblems) but that's about it.

However if you had a newer truck (for example my '08) you would not be able to use the tailgate off of the older years without modification.
