Hyperflash with blinker mod? (one led bulb vs 2 led bulbs?)
i have done the blinker mod and i am unsatisfied with how bright the corner bulbs are so id like to put led bulbs in them but i dont want to deal with the ep27 flashers.
what will happen if the corner is led?
if the turn signal is led?
if both are led?

i think with the LED corner you should be fine since you still have the main draw of the incandescent turn signal bulb. both... possibly won't need the ep27 but i'm no expert

Re: Hyperflash with blinker mod? (one led bulb vs 2 led bulbs?)
I belive if the corner is LED and the main one is regular style it wont hyperflash.
Why not just go LED and upgrade to the ep27 inexpensive and 5 minutes to replace?

You indeed will not need to replace the flasher since the existing normal load of the two incandescent bulbs is still there. However for your own future reference, the flasher unplugs and plugs in. It takes approximately 32 seconds and costs about $5. It is easier than changing a blown fuse.

google shows 10 + dollars
SO....ur saying that if i have 2 led bulbs per side (corner and turn) I will NOT NEED the ep27 flasher?

Re: Hyperflash with blinker mod? (one led bulb vs 2 led bulbs?)
I'm saying that as long as you have both of the existing normal incandescent front and rear signal lights still there, the flasher does not care what else you do. You only need to swap to the EP27 if you replace one or more of the existing front or rear signals with LEDs.
Ok, $10. Either way, there is nothing to not want to deal with.

Re: Hyperflash with blinker mod? (one led bulb vs 2 led bulbs?)
If you have JUST led's in any (fronts or rear) turn signal, you're probably gonna need an EP-27 electronic flasher.
The led's have much less resistance than an incandescent bulb & the truck will think a bulb is burned out.
Check evilBay for an ep-27, they're probably less than $20 now. Plug-n-play, will take longer to find it than it does to replace it.
For led's in just the corner/parking lights... as long as they don't blink you should be ok.
With that said, if you do the blinker mod, led's probably won't work without a little additional work. Never done it myself, but if I understand the mod correctly, you tap the turn signal into the corner wiring...

Re: Hyperflash with blinker mod? (one led bulb vs 2 led bulbs?)
Actually from what I recall about the blinker mod, I don't think it will work. LED's prevent current flow in one direction and the blinker mod requires that it be able to flow in both directions.

^^ Ok then. You're good. And again, as long as you still have two normal incandescent turn signal bulbs, you do not need the flasher changed out.
