Talking Tucker Center light mod

Preston Tucker championed the 3rd headlight idea. I say we should try that on a Ranger. Maybe it'll be one light, maybe two. A light or set of lights that turns with the steering wheel into a turn. This is not impossible. Can we rally our collective consciousness to conquer this minor speed bump in automotive history which was later resumed by our foreign automaker rivals, to successfully produce the turn in headlight technology? I think we can........... ON A RANGER!!!

Atn: Rat Rod folks: Off-Roaders: Rednecks: Inventors: Weirdos: Let's do this.

Electronically or mechanically: It is possible!!!!!

And it'll be cool as hell!!

You know his original design was fenders that wrapped the front wheels and turned with them lighting the way? Alot of the ideas he invisioned for the car were axed because they wern't feisable at the time and/or production schedule for the debut.

honestly, yeah it can be done...but why!? On a ranger, it'll just be far too ugly and in most states, it'll likely be illegal. The juice ain't worth the squeeze in my opinion.

Wink

I was just inspired with my second viewing of the Tucker movie. I've always wondered since my first viewing years ago why nobody except the Germans and Asians had adopted this technology. I just thought that it'd be kinda easy to do this since I was very young. But I'll never pay $500+ as an option from the dealer because I know it can be done so easily. And If nobody else here has this aspiration, than I will be the first to post the pics of this system...

I own the movie and looooove watching it. The car material aside, I like how it shows the curruptness of the govn't and the 'big three' to new designs and new compeditors. It's a little known story that most don't really know much about or even heard of.

Of the current cars with this technology, $500 ain't shit. lol. I think there's only a couple with it. The new for '09 Lexus IS has it I know.

My parent's '98 Continental has lights towards the side that illuminate when you turn on the turnsignal. Same sorta deal, but not a moving lamp.

Girlfriends Buick has side lights that turn on with the signal. There are some Caddies that have the HIDs from a few years back with the turning lights, Lexus has been doing it awhile now to. BMW, I believe Volvo as well. Cool idea but I wouldn't want to do it.

There as a car from the 60's made by Citroen that had headlights that turned as you steered.

I can see it now: Rangers with these "center headlights" at stop lights, the drivers
turning their steering wheels back and forth, pissing off the other cars.
