i got a 2005 ranger from the auction recently and i need a new bumper right fender and tailgate and a couple lights
and i was wondering which years would fit on mine
would an 03 or 00 parts fit on 05?

Lights are '01+ I believe.... Bumper, Fender, and Tailgate should all be '93+ to fit right.... I think... haha

yes on yours it is but on my ranger the whole thing is fiberglass
like yours is chrome but mine is a one piece fiberglass

Better post a pic there bud. All 04+'s have the same header panel and those circled pieces in STL's pic is part of the header panel...molded fiberglass. Header panel is the answer to your earlier question...what the grille and lights mount onto in front ofthe radiator.

If those things circled in the pic are built into the actual grille itself(one piece plastic), the truck or the grille your trying to fit isn't an 05...it's an 01-03.


Interchages:

01+ headlights
01+ corner lights
98+ fender(remember if there's 'trim' or not. trim = wheel lip molding(flare)
01-05 metal front bumper
01-03 or 04-05 valence(slightly different shape and different shape fogs)
04+ header panel
93+ tailgate(if same bed style)

Can you post some pics? I'm a little confused.

From what you describe, it sounds like the part from the '01-'03 Rangers. On those, the part that STL has circled in the pic and the grille surround is all one piece. On the '04-current trucks, that piece that STL circled is independent of any other part of the truck.

If you were to remove the chrome outer/inner grille on STL's truck, it would look like this:
