Default Re: Tow Hooks On A 2wd Possible?

Great post, after calling for a quote at the local ford dealer for hooks I decided a scavenger hunt was a much cheaper option. The local u pull auto wrecker charges $3.99 per hook, but did they have what I needed?
Found these off a pre 2002 Ranger 4x4 they have the same part number as the loop style at the start of the tread but these are cast units and the holes line up on the cross member. Some elbow grease to clean them up and a couple of coats of semi gloss tremclad. Can't wait to bolt them up.

I think these although not stainless hooks are better looking and probably stronger than the newer loop units. And coming in under $10 a much better price and more fun than a visit to empty a wallet at the parts counter

Good find! You have the type that were used on pre-2000 trucks.

Bolted the tow loops I salvaged last weekend, some creative use of extensions and they went in without having to remove bumper or any other body work.

easy project and looks good for so little.
