Thumbs down 2011 Headlights

Hi all, I'm brand new to the site but this is my 3rd Ranger. I am trying to remove the headlights from my 2011 and cannot get the second latch to release (I dont think its actually a latch although it looks similar). There is a black plastic nut on the outside bottom corner of the light and a clear plastic nut at the outside upper corner. Can anyone out there help? I expect I am missing something ridiculously simple. Thanks for the help!

try pushing the light towards the cab just a bit and then try to pull up on the tab to release the light

Mac211XL is right; they should just pull up to release. Probably just binding a bit.

I`m having the same issue here. I think it`s the white plastic nut near the top of the outside latch that`s messing a guy up. Seems it might require a special tool, or perhaps I`m missing something...
The link posted above doesn`t address this.

OK, on closer inspection, those white things definitely aren`t nuts and they do not come off. The outside retaining tabs should just pull up like the inside ones, but they are stuck and no matter how hard I pull, and how much I push inward on the headlight, they will not budge. WTF.

Well I got it...
Just grabbed it with some channel-lock pliars and pulled up on it with way more force than I figured I would need to. It eventually popped up.

Now I have a new problem...
When I went to remove the first bulb, the damn locking clip snapped right off the female connector that the bulb plugs in to.
Do I have to get that whole section of wiring harness replaced now, or can they just wired a new connector onto the endÉ
