Default Air Intake Mod Questions?

Hey does the Air intake Mod affect gas mileage? i tried it and it seemed to be able to watch my gas gauge go from full to empty unusually quick for a 2.3l.

yeah my first tank after the mod went fast too lol, but like he said i had my foot all in it, mine makes the most awesome sound at about 3-4000 rpms, sounds incredibly beefy for a little 3.0

Absolutely. They will reduce power and reduce mpg. They will also reduce your checking account. As long as that is what you're looking to do, then I would highly recommend it

The reason many cone filter mods do this is because they are open draw air from under the hood which is hot. Hot air is less dense. The computer will reduce the fuel to keep the A/F ratio correct. Power goes down.

If you're going to do intake mods, they need to maintain a fresh outside air supply like the stock intake has. You still won't gain anything measurable from it without other engine and exhaust mods to make use of it though.

would it be better to leave the factory air intake where it is and just get a nicer filter?
