Nah it must have not been copied over. I just looked at the pic. I did it on mine, but that was probably 2 years ago.

Not sure which fuse it is, but you need to bend one of the contacts on a fuse in the the underhood panel...someone will chime in I'm sure...

Works on 2002~2003 Rangers with factory foglamps, possibly others.
Does not work on 2004+ Ranger.

I tried this on my 2000, and I cant seem to get it working. I tried as many combos as I could figure to get it working, but I couldnt get it working I'll try to take pics tomorrow. Im thinking that if I cut the middle pin off of the relay, it ought to work, but I want to get another relay before I start chopping it up. If anyone happens to know how to get this to work, then by all means, please chime in.

Make sure you're modding the right relay. Best way to find out is have someone in the cab turning the fogs on and off, on and off while youre feeling the relay. You'll feel the relay 'click' and hear it as well. I'll plug my camera in and show you pics of what relay it is on my '01. Rwenzing's post covers 02-03's. '01 and possibly earlier is in a different location.

stand by...

Correction: My '01, the mod is the same as the writeup that Bob wrote for 02-03 Rangers. Except, for some reason, I'm missing two spades on the relay. Don't really know why. I did the mod about 5 years ago. I'm thinking my relay one had 4 spades on it to begin with.

Relay labeled "X" is the one in question. Truck is 2001.

Relay spades. Two missing or one just broke off. Not too sure.

I found the one clicking, and when I yanked it, the fogs stopped working entirely. plug it back in, and they work again. I tried all of the outside plugs, and looking at the diag on the side of the relay, I would say that it is pin 5 that causes it to switch off, so Im going to get another relay, cut that pin off and see.

1999~2000 Ranger foglamp mod:

Open the distribution box

Locate the foglamp relay at the rear corner of the box closest to the DS fender
(#10 in the owners manual)

Remove the relay and bend the correct pin as shown. Reinstall.

Map of Distribution Box. The red arrow shows relay #10.

Note: This mod may be illegal in some states, especially if you also have driving lights that come on with the high beams. Many states limit you to 4 forward-facing lights on at the same time.

Quick question not trying to high jack thread!
I am wondering when hooking my Fogs to the relay will the fogs be more brighter?
Because rite now i have my fogs hooked directly to my battery onto a switch with a inline fuse.

And there is no problems.
