Default Ranger SST

I have a 04 Ranger. On the side of the bed is has "SST" printed. I've never been able to find out what this means. Does anyone know what the SST is all about?

It's not something someone added. It's like that from the factory. I've looked around and found several SST Rangers for sale. Can't seem to find out what it means though... I don't know if it's a different package or what, but there are several others out there.

Why would they put a emblem on the side of the truck for just that?

I've never heard of an SST ever. What is quoted from RF sounds like a XLT value 4x4. Post pics or it don't exist...

Might be one of those dealer installed packages. Several mustangs come that way off the dealer lot.

Dodge had an SST(SS/T?) back in the mid-late 90's.

There is no mention of SST in the Ranger sales literature or the dealer Ordering Guide for 2005, so it is not factory. The sticker was probably added by a dealer or owner.

From a guy at RPS

Quote:
I know all about it!!!!!!! Basically, in 03 Ford made XLT's with the "value package" and they had the dealerships put the SST badges on the bedsides on some of them (specific ones). Thats all it is. There is nothing special about the rest of the exterior, interior, or engine. How do I know?? I work for a Ford dealership and I've seen some of the Rangers getting those decals put on and it gives an instruction sheet basically explaining where to put the decals, etc. Later guys.

back in 1984 ford ranger did have an sst option. it was only then and sst stood for Super sport truck. it was an 2wd with some side stripes. the sst logo was embossed along the lower door panels

YOUR 2004 "SST" is not an SST. trust us, were ford ranger experts. (i've been driving them for 26 years)
