Holy pooper scoopers guys! No one know everything and we are all here to help each other out... not to bash on each other! Thats what ricers do! Not lets set apart our differences, which would be a one year difference in Rangers, and shake mouse cursors... We got the part number needed to answer the question, despite any confusion...

Now 02'4.04X4, when are you planning on getting the valance to put it on? I know I need to order another one cuz mine is cracked beyond repair. Ill be getting the cheaper one and just getting my local Ford Collision Center to paint match it.

Here...you may enjoy these....

The ananomy of an 01-05 ranger front bumper....metal bumper with bumper brackets + valence which bolts to the bumper. Yes, i'm still calling it a bumper as it's metal and it's in the area in which a bumper would be...

Using your analogy, a rear bumper simply isn't a rear bumper.....the spare holder is the bumper. because that metal you see and step on is simply cosmetic as it's just trim. Keep stoning...stone away. You're wrong.
Hmm I wonder what the two bolts at the top of that pic are holding on to the impact beam. . . . . Crying.

Great pics. I love the black undercarraige.

There is a trim cover on the raw impact beam. An impact beam is a heavy duty re-enforcement beam that goes from frame post to frame post. It actually is the bumper. it appears that this one is a composite beam re-enforced beam. Notice how that upper piece is not entirely black, that not black part is the impact beam. Guess what the black part would be called. Anyways, it doesn't matter that much, to some of the generally inexperienced guys a bumper is a bumper, is a bumper and so be it. Not that big of a deal. It's not necessary to get wrapped around the axle about this.("expression" not actually talking about an axle.)

You know what just to appease the cursing one here is a link where you can purchase a bumper filler(impact beam) or the bumper cover/trim.

http://www.theautochannel.com/autopa...ngeritems.html

Now holy fuck, piss off. Geez, me likey truck truck.

I think you guys may just be too young, and are not familiar with the terms.

I guess I'm not done.

***Before I start, you're comment about the coloring of my bumpers. Fact of the matter is that it's a daily driven vehicle who's underside gets dirty from playing in the snow or dirt or mud or the normal 7 months of downpour rain we get here in the PNW. Plus....my bumper....is actually a stock chrome bumper that's been coated in rattle can bedliner. Just the outside is coated, not the inside of the bumper. That's what you're probably seeing and noting on. The valence is coated with the same stuff and not on the backside.***

It's confusing. Mostly because I think I proved what the construction is of 01-05 bumpers and front frame sections. What you just typed out makes no sense to what the ACTUAL construction is of an 01-05 Ranger. Have you gone under your truck to see it's bumper parts and how it's all put together? 4 nuts(and two bulb pigtails) and the entire bumper assembly is off the truck for an even better looksee.

The link you provided shows me nothing but a 1989 having a 'filler'/impact beam according to you. According to LMC truck and just about everyone I know in the auto body field, calls it a bumper pad....plastic piece of asthetics that snaps into the bumper. Here's the link you should have linked. http://market.autopartsfair.com/ford...t_type=bumpers

You'll see that what's listed as bumper fillers, ARE PLASTIC ASTHETIC ITEMS that christmas tree pin into the header panel to fill a gap(visible in the previous pic I posted where I mentioned to disregard the hitch). How can THAT be considered any sort of "impact beam" when it's thin plastic. I've got an extra set of 01-03 bumper fillers on an extra front end...shall I make a video? You will also see main bumper brackets(as scribbled below in red), corner reinforcements brackets(which are out of view of the pic), and the metal bumper(scribbled in blue). Finally, the valence(scribbled in yellow).

Original Pic...

Another angle showing more of an overall view as well as the corner reinforcement brackets...again...disregard the bodylift bumper brackets. The top bolts of those brackets are the stock bumper to frame horn bolts.

A diagram from the LMC truck catalog shows ALL the components in an 01-05 front ranger bumper assy to further prove my point.

I'm not one to argue and many people that are members here of FRF or any other ranger forum can tell you that. I think 98% of all my posts here show that as well. I help people. I'm a good guy. But when I know I'm right, I'll continue to prove it til I get just sick and tired of it. I do not question your intelligence or skill as you seem educated to me. But you're wrong in this particular department, on this particular application, in this particular year range.

Yes, I may be young. Yes, I may have not chosen my words too wisely in an earlier post. All I ask is that you actually LOOK AT YOUR TRUCK and you'll see exactly as I'm pointing out to you. Several other members here can do the same, I just happen to be one who opens his mouth and continues to open it. I know these 98+'s pretty darn well having owned 2, practically rebuilt one entirely, work on my friend's('98, '98, '01, '01, '02, '03, '03, '07, '08 all of varying trim levels and drivetrains) quite a bit in every area on the rig.

I think you are just not familiar with these trucks like some of us others are.

I suggest you actually go look at your truck. The proof is 5' in front of your hands while you're driving. Go look.

Thank you for your earlier compliments on my truck. I sure do appreciate it. It sure has come a long way in a little over 5 years. Everything has been touched except the frame and sheet metal(for the most part).

And with that, I am now done. For good this time. The "who's bulge in their pants is bigger" battle is done from me.
