How do i know my gear ratio in my rear diff?

you look on the door panel and see what it says for axle code.

then, to answer your next question, you search on this forum for "axle code" and it will then bring you to the post showing which axles/gear ratios match up with which axle codes as shown on your door sticker.

On the rear axle the differential cover it has a tag that comes off with numbers and possibly letters just tell us what the numbers/letters are

Where the red arrows are the tag will be in one of those 2 locations

I put a chrome rear diff cover on there and took that off and don't know what i did with it
I can look for my vin sticker
my truck was in an accident so i replaced the door and i gotta find it
unless there is another way to tell

It isnt on your actual door it is on your door jam where the door latches

I replaced my rear door which is where the sticker was
And i cannot find the sticker right now

Jack the truck up and spin the drive shaft. Spin the DS one time and count the times the tires spin and there is your gear ratio. Not the most scientific way but it will get you a close guess.
