Default Spray on liner on lower parts of panels?

My family has always owned Fords and I see a pattern in where they tend to rust. I was wondering if I line-xed these areas, would it deter rust?

I personally think it would also add a little continuity to the plastic guards already on the truck.

Thinking of maybe doing the inside of the doors just below the trim?
Probably line over that little plastic piece just behind the front wheel to give it the same look.

What do you think? Thoughts? Opinions? Tips?

----------

Opps, fixing pictures now... sorry.

my 2009 already has chip guard on those area's not sure about the 04's if it doesn't it certainly won't hurt. coat both sides the rust will come from the backside most likely.

Won't hurt. I'm planning on doing that to the bottom part of my truck all around, going up a little further on the truck than you are. Really good protection againts rock chips and road salt.

Thanks guys.

Do you have any preference of which liner to use? Line X, Herculiner, Rhino.. ect?

Also, I've never lined anything before but I helped my dad do the bed of my old truck years back. It is necessary to sand the area first?

Line X is probably one of the best... but I think you have to take it somewhere to get that done. If you do it yourself, Herculiner has been used by many on here...just do the prep work as the box states and you shouldn't have any issues.

i've actually used a spray on bed liner from napa i did the prep about 3 months ago, and it is still holding up. just get inside of the rocker panels as that will rust out before the outside.

I like the look of that, how many kits did it take to do it minus the bed. Already have a drop-in liner that I'm not crazy about but I'll keep it for now.

I am going to do what chebba did but I am going to color match mine along with the bumpers and flares . I am going to use AL's DIY bedliner. I have used it before and it is WAY better than herculiner or duplicolor. It is a 4 part epoxy that CURES NOT dries

I have been considering doing this to my truck as well. Have you followed through with it yet? If so, lets see some pics!

Did you get your fender flares aftermarket? I'd love a nice rounded set for the rear of my 1990 ranger.

Eh, ran into some unexpected costs and had to use my "truck money" for some plane tickets, ugh!

Will follow through with it soon though.
