Silverstar Ultras are 4000k. And I don't think 4000k HID's are a bad idea at all, same temp as silverstars but 3x brighter. You say it would be too normal but really, it would be abnormal cuz EVERYONE with HIDs runs 6 or 8k.

just to be safe...check with the dmv about adding hids because they might be illegal unless you have projectors...because they have a ''cut-off line''

You didn't fix anything. You completely changed what I said to something inappropriate for the application. 3500K lamps have no business in headlights. 4500-6000k remain the only color temperatures appropriate for headlight use. Regardless of what people think looks cool.

What are you smoking? Do you even know what the color temp of stock halogen lamps are? Obviously not..
Your claim suggests that something like 4300k is not suitable for headlamps. Guess BMW and Mercedes and Lexus are fvcking nuts in your book.
4300k HIDs have more lumens than 6k HIDs but ppl get 6k because it "Looks cool".

And YES i fixed it to more factual information so you couldn't try and pass off your opinion as fact.

Yes I'm aware how color temperature works and I'm aware of what factory HID's use. I rounded up to a more common number found in the aftermarket shops that offer them for sale (ie-DDM). 4300 or 4500 is a lot more white than your incorrect claim that 3500k is appropriate for headlight HID's. And to your comment about 4300 (or 4500) having more lumens than 6000k, no kidding. Did I say they didn't, and did I ever make mention of lumens in this anywhere? No. Is it a loss of lumens enough to be concerned with? No. I'm talking about color temperature.

If you want to drive around with yellowish headlights and get tickets, knock yourself out. For the rest of the forum that wants to have white headlights since thats what they're supposed to be, I suggest you stick with 4500-6000k,

You're entitled to your opinion just like me. Keep it to your own posts rather than modifying mine.

fixed. again. If you don't like me doing it then either get your eyes checked or reevaluate the color temp chart. I'm not doing it just to disagree with you.
And why do you think 3500 "has no business in headlamps" when you know a 3500k HID will illuminate a wet road at night better than 6k? What, its inappropriate cause it's not as pretty looking as 6k? REALLY?? I'm sorry that I can't stand by as you spread complete and utter BS...

Yeah we'd better get a memo out to the millions of drivers running stock 3200k halogens warning them they're going to get ticketed for the color of their headlights.

Cause that's what fog lights are for if you want to have yellowish lights for bad weather. I have nothing more to debate with you on this as I would be repeating myself over and over. I've stated my piece, I stand by it, and you can think what you want too. Feel free to keep rambling.

hahaha you guys are ridiculous man. Alright Im not gonna go with 3000ks I get the point. Im actually gonna ditch HIDs all together, I dont need brighter headlights, I piss enough people off with my silverultras as it is and I dont have the correct housing for brighter lights anyways. Thanks for the input guys, just trying to get some feedback on an idea.

If you're pissing people off with silverstars, you need to aim them down more. Unless you want someone to hit you.
