Do I need longer shocks for this?

Both of those are for trucks up to 97. You have a 98 with completely different suspension, so neither of them will work.

On my door it says I have a 97 but the truck is registered 98. So im not sure.

It was built in 97 but the actual model year is 98. My truck says 04 but model year is 05

So if I wanted to buy a lift kit or parts what year am I looking for 97 or 98?

well those AAL's should still work on his 98. But yeah the coil spacers in that kit are a no-go

and yeah you should get longer shocks so they don't bottom out/act as a bump stop. I like my Bilstein 5100s
