Default New Shocks Need new Coil Springs?

OK guys.. I think Im going to get Pro Comp shocks that says they lift the truck 2-3 inches. ( 4 of them) Then Im going to add 3 inch blocks in the rear. Now Im having problems finding coil springs for the front that will fit a 2-3 inch lift. I can't find them.. Also adding new springs and shocks will lift the truck but will it still be allignable? Or am I going to need a spindle lift also?

Thanks

do fatbobs coil spacers for 2wd rangers. those are 2 inches, and very noticalbe, and they will work great with your shocks.

Yeah but what about the rear? I know I can use blocks but will my shocks be long enough?

well, if you get shocks for a 2-3 inch lift with a 3" block..... that seems like they'd fit don't you think?

Can you send me a link for those? Out of curiousity, I want to know how shocks lift a truck on their own.

They definitely dont. All shock absorbers do is that. ABSORB shock. They do NOTHING for the ride height. Dont beleive me? take them off and see if we're right.

so you got longer shocks. they make different length shocks, doesn't mean they provide lift.

they dont actually provide lift, theyre made to go with that ammount of lift. like if i got a 2 inch lift kit, id get the shocks to match it.

If you need any other proof. IF these were pistons/ pneumatic cylinders rather than shocks, the max force you could get from a 1-3/8" bore piston @200 psi is ~ 300 pounds (296.828lbs) each.

I like math >.<

Edit: It is really fun to ride in a truck w/o shocks for like 10 minutes. Then the motion sickness sets in.

you're reading it right, but thinking about it wrong. for a lift, you raise the suspension, either by longer springs or drop brackets, or whatever. after that, the distance between your shock mount on the lower control arm and the one at the frame has increased, thus needing longer shocks.

if you were to take the shock off your truck, the springs would still hold it up. go for a drive with no shocks and you'll bounce around like on a trampoline.
