thinkn about painting my bumpers

i been thinkn about painting my ugly grey bumpers but im scared lol, would be nice to see some pics and maybe some details of prep and what paint to use

its easy, just sand em real good, and give them a few easy coats of paint. take it slow, you dont want the paint running. then do some clear coat.

should i hit it with any primer and what kinda paint would you recommend

oh yea of course primer. lol. umm ive heard krylon fusion works real well.

just a question do you have access to a paint gun?? and you dont have to prime if you use fusion it's self priming and its actually meant for plastic. there is a brand called omni sold at arnold motor supply and companies like that its automotive paint and it's available in a can prepping is easy just use some red scotch brite scuff it real good wipe it down and tac it or there is a fish eye product i use its also made by omni i reccomend it... heres the process with the fish eye
step 1. scuff it down really good with red scotch brite
step 2. spray on fisheye protectant and wipe it down remember always use circular motions
step 3. rescuff very lighty just kinda go over it everywhere to make sure you got it good.
step 4 spray more fish eye protectant and wipe down again
step 5 rub down with tac cloth and paint
i woould personally not do a base coat clear coat paint if your nervous i would use the omni 1 spray and done i do my painting with a gun but its the same concept as a can. just spray 2 or 3 coats for it to look good

I dont have any access to a paint gun and wll that fusion stick to the upper metal part of the bumper

i don't know it's not a metal paint if you want to spray go to an automotive place and get an actual automotive paint in a can don't be a cheapo when painting or you'll be doing it over a few years later spend the money now on a more durable paint that can handle some rocks smacking into it

a realy easy way to paint them to give ur truck a rough look and belive it or not it is quality( will not chip or come of and it keeps the dark black color)... SPRAY ON BED LINER

1. sand ur painted bumper remove all the old paint (unless u have asteel bumper like me)
2. wipe of all loose particles with a damp rag ( do this even if u have a steel bumper)
3. Use painter's tape and cover everything u do not want painted
4. spray on the bed liner ( do 2 coats ) it comes out even so u don't have to worry about it and it turns out bad ass.

look at the pic and imagine ur bumpers painted in that!

pretty sure automotive paint can chip when hit with a rock.

gravel.... not a fuckin full size boulder anything will scuff and chip then. people these days.

I recently painted my bumpers with rustoleum I think it looks nice the only thing is water drops are very noticeable if you don't wipe it off
