Just a suggestion. I removed mine, scraped all old rubber off, sanded with high grit paper, and used plasti dip. They came out great. They're drying now, but here's a pic of the drivers side.

this!!! That's exactly what I did to mine. It looks clean and is super cheap, (Plasti Dip is $5 a can). It's basically my best friend for my bikes and truck. Haha.
