double sided automotive tape will work im pretty sure. my f150 had one and it was just stuck on and i ripped it off lol

pretty sure mines aluminium, when did they start making them out of fiberglass? Either way you don't need to worry about it rusting, just drill then damn holes. Wrap some tape around the drill bit though to keep it from going too deep.

best bet is to drill and screw it on, plus some 3M double sided body moulding adheasive tape. i installed one on my other DD monte carlo and it's super easy, making sure it's lined up takes the longest ( a whopping 5 minutes).


i also thought the powerdome hoods were fiberglass? and the '98 up flat hoods were made of aluminum? im fairly sure of this, so it won't rust. ever.

Double faced tape will work. The bug guard on my previous CR-V was attached that way. Once it's on, it's on though, so get it right the first time! I would prefer to drill and use the screws that came with the guard though. If you are worried about corrosion, just put the screws in with some silicone RTV on it.

my hood is aluminum, its all corroded in front underneath and the paint is bubbling in front also. i think it might have been from a bug shield by a previous owner...

i am against these personally, they seem to just redirect stone chips the windsheild ha

I just installed it using 3M double sided automotive tape from Advance Auto Parts. Now I just have to make sure it doesn't rattle too much and it doesn't fly off my hood...

Yeah I saw that, I can read BUT that bug shield is like a catch all from water to leaves. If you just leave it on with double sided tape, eventually it will wear off...and quick to where the bugshield will fly off. You can drill it in, if you're worried about rust/rot silicone the screws and the holes and put the screws in

I used 3M double sided tape and it seems to stay on very well. How long do you think it'll be till it flies off cuz I'm taking a road trip tomorrow lol
