Re: I didn't just bite the projector bullet, I caught it with my TEETH
As for bulbs I have both the New Morimoto 3Five 5000k bulbs and the Phillips 85122+ bulbs running on 35w morimoto d2s ballasts and the Phlillips bulbs are noticeably brighter. I want to boost it up to 50w but Im gonna tackle another retrofit first (TL or FX(FX-R))

I think so. If you can find the Osram CBI bulbs that are real those are awesome but they are around 200+ for a set... Word on the street is Sylvania is going to begin rebranding the CBI bulbs this fall for import into the US.
CBI bulbs are the brightest 5000k bulb you can buy

with my luck, i'll have a worse outcome haha.
next dilemma: sometimes my bulbs don't ignite. i suspect my DDM ballasts are going bad, luckily they're close to me and have a lifetime warranty.

bump for some pics for newshockerguy.
passenger side. looks cramped, but i can fit my finger around the bulb adapter on all sides.
driver's side has more stuff since i mounted the high/low harness right there.
don't mind the dirt. feel free to post up any questions you have before you order. i did end up getting 4300k bulbs from ddm tuning for like $25, now i need a new ballast.

Looks a lot like mine, without the dirt lol. And should of bought the bulbs from TRS and also the ballast. Helps out with the warranty with the projectors in case anything goes wrong with them. If you use bulbs and ballast from TRS in your projectors, than you have nothing to worry about but from DDM, a bit sketchy. Save yourself time and trouble by getting everything from TRS!

Re: I didn't just bite the projector bullet, I caught it with my TEETH
i had the ddm ballasts already from some off road lights i had, and i got the bulbs thinking i had a bad one from trs. turns out its the ballast that's bad. so.... who knows. that's $135 i could spend on other stuff. especially since the ddm ballasts have a lifetime warranty as well.

Well if you talk to one of the TRS customer service guys, you can try and get a bundle deal if you buy the ballast and bulbs together. I preordered my ballast from them and all ready have their 50w bulbs and can tell you that it's a whole lot brighter than DDM (which I had awhile back). Just some peace of mind stuff knowing that your projectors will be safe because everything in it would be OEM and not aftermarket.

i may do that down the road. for now, i'm saving my dough for other goodies and will swap the ballasts thru the warranty.
