Default undercoating?

i bought my ranger with the frame undercoated.. its not painted under the undercoating and in some places it is rubbing off a little and i bought some 3M undercoating but everytime i spray it in that area it comes off a short while later... i was wondering if there was anything to make it stick better to the frame?

It literally took me a full day to clean and spray my underbody... Two years later MOST of it is still there, I used a wire wheel a pressure washer and some lacquer thinner..

That undercoat is pretty sticky stuff... But a primer could do no harm imo

do not put paint straight to frame its kills the purpose of undercoating. undercoating is used to stop rust and keep it from starting and it reacts chemically with rust and metal. putting on paint first ruins that feayture

like just a metal paint primer or something else? cause its coming off in a couple places like the lower control arm frame mounting section... and mid frame.. the front is more than likely from rain and some offroading and the mid frame is from rain im guessing... in florida it rains alot and that was my last place of duty... the frame hasnt rusted yet but i need to figure it out before winter or before it rusts

IF your going to do the primer go with a bare metal primer its usually brown and its tough as hell

Just clean it scuff it and paint. Its rubberized undercoating so it doesn't need much. I did my wheel wells with the same stuff and it still looks good and holds up to pressure washing.

I have been looking into using rust bullet or chassis saver. I plan on giving chassis saver a try soon as it is available at a few local stores. I will post pics and details of the process when I get there.
