Default So, has anyone ever replaced thier rocker panels?

I just bought a 2000 4Dr supercab at an auction and it has some rust issues underneath that I need to address. The price was right so they are not real big deals.

I have to replace part of the front cross member where the front of the lower control arms bolts (it's rusted out). The door bottoms all need some attention, and the rocker panels may need replaced...we'll see once I take the grinder to them.

My question. I have been looking all over for the rocker panels (online and my sources for aftermarket parts locally) and no one has them available except through Ford, which lists them at $138 and $122 for the left and right sides; I can get them for around $100 each with my discount. I don't know if they are hidden in plain sight or what but I can't find them elsewhere. Has anyone replaced theirs and have a source? Help is appreciated. Thanks.

I didn't know they were replaceable. I thought they were welded in from the factory...

yes, they are welded on, but still replaceable. a body shop should have a source of them. but if they are $100 each from ford, i would go that route. oem trumps aftermarket all the time in fit, shape, etc.

Well, I picked up my new rockers from the dealer. With my 25% off they were $95 and $102; not too bad.

I keep finding more rotted out. Now I have to replace the radiator support. There's nothing left of the bottom of it. Then, I was poking at some rust on the oil pan and now it's leaking...so I need a new oil pan. Errrr...
