Default Herculiner bed liner

For those on a poor budget (like myself) and don't have the money for Line-X. Go with Herculiner, this stuff is great. You have to do a good amount of prep work if you want it to come out real good and last. I got the kit (a gallon of bedliner, 2 inch brush and roller I threw out), a 4 inch $2 brush from walmart and painted it on..

I would suggest not to use a roller its a complete waste of time, just get a 4 inch and 2 inch junk brush for tight/cut in spots. The painting really doesn't take to long I did everything in one day just remember to sand down the bed really good with 60 grit sandpaper so the liner can grab and avoid peeling. The gallon got me 3 coats.

It takes about 8 days to fully cure but you can start using it lightly within 24 hours. Its strong as hell after a week I took a very sharp dagger and tried to dig into it just to test.. nothing peeled.

Not the best pic but its what I got.

I am not really sure what chalky look means, sorry.

I do hear that after a few years the UV rays get to it and it has a "dull/lighter" look.. but honestly, it doesn't concern me much.

By the way this project was under $80 bucks.. so its a decent deal if you have the time and wanna put in effort.

I know like my dad had Rhino liner in his truck and it got that lighter look. Looked chalky to me.

Did you remove your bed bolts?

80 bucks isnt fucking bad.

Nah, didn't remove my bed bolts just went over them easy so if I need to ever remove them I can. They did get coated though, everything did. Yeah for $80.. can't go wrong.

yeah mine dulled pretty fast. I say within 2 weeks in was dull looking. but i still love the way it looks and its pretty tough stuff. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I taped over my bedbolts..
