Default 2008 Xl CONFUSION!!!

So, I'm trying to make my Ranger look badass, bro!, but I am so damn confused. Firstly, does my truck have torsion bars? how can I tell? Secondly, I was considering doing a doestech 4'' spindle lift..partialy because the guy at Off Road Warehoues said thats really my only option...comments on that..
Also, COLD AIR INTAKES, There is one made by aFe that is $187 vs. the K&N that is $300.. What is the difference between the two systems, pros and cons, or am I just paying for the name with the K&N?

Please forgive me for I am but 17 and poorly educated on the mechanics and workings of automobiles and am attempting to remedy that, hence why I lurk this fourm.

I have limited knowledge on the cold air intakes but I would guess it's mostly just the name. I've also heard mixed reviews on whether their actually worth it... I'd save the money on the intake and spring for a lift/drop or put it towards wheels/tires/tint/etc.

Wouldn't be suprised if a cold air intake debate started up seeing as some say they're useless and others say they help.

Id save the money on the intake too, i bought mine for 60$ just because it looked better and to see if it'd help.

Does it sound different? Yeah a bit better, does it run different? Debatable with most stats pointing to no. Save your money and do tint like they said or sound system etc..

My to do list:
tint
rhino line(in progress)
lift(in progress)
billet grille
headlights or offroad lights
cold air intake
light bar?
wheels for my AT tires

light bar is cool and not to exspensive, billet grills also work well but wheels really set your truck apart

Dont go for the cai, waste of money really, just get the drop in k&n filter.

if hes got an xl, he has coil springs STL. so get the spindle lift for it.

Also, if you do the spindle lift, give it a go yourself, will save you loads of money. With little experience you can easily do it in a day, I just had to rent some tools from autozone.
