98 requires a minor wiring change to make this happen. Here's how I would do it. Proceed at your own risk:
  • Cut the dark blue w/light green stripe a few inches from where it comes out of the underhood Distribution Box
  • Insulate the cut end of the DB/LG wire that is going toward the firewall.
  • Extend the cut end of the DB/LG wire coming from the Distribution Box and tee it into the solid brown wire that feeds the front parking lamps.
The brown wire is in the large wire bundle that runs close to the Distribution Box. So, with a little planning, the mod could be done in a very tidy manner. The underhood area is a harsh environment and any electrical connections need to be solid, waterproof and well-insulated.

Not really there is only a how to for 1999-2000 foglight mod

This has hardly ever come up with a solid answer.

I know this is an old Thread but will this work or what do you have to do if i have a 2000 Ranger Wiring Manual (printed August 99) with the single relay. I don't care so much to have the fogs on with the high beams but I would like them just to come on with the turn single lights (one turn of light switch, no headlights) ?

No you have to have all the lights on/ switch turned all the way for them to come on. One turn of the switch just puts the maker lights on. It weird like in this year range some rangers do thing that others do not. who knows its not that big of a deal I guess.

Anything can happen,

I have a 2000 Ranger with the foglight switch in the radio bezel and I added OEM fogs with buggman wiring kit and mine works as follows: with key in run position if I turn on parking marker fogs don't work until I turn on switch and they will work independently of parking lights with just the fog switch and they are also on with headlights as long as fog light switch is on.
