first time i took my cap off since i bought the truck last year and i found 3 paint chips along the top sides of the bed....whats the best way to cover this up so they dont rust out in the salty air at the beach?

it did. so I had to put a good thick coat on then put my topper back on. the seal on the back window rubbed the tailgate down to bare sheet metal. I got rear ended so they had to replace the tailgate for me I forgot it did that so when I put it back on it rubbed the paint off AGAIN so I got weatherstripping for the seal

i dont plan on putting the cap back on for a while....sorta hoping to sell it even, would it look shitty if i put the stuff from walmart on it but didnt put the cap back on?

probably. mine didn't match worth a darn. I used to have a Saturn and it didn't match on there either. someone told me that if you buff it good and get wax on top the duplicolor that it will blend better
