Default Are bug deflectors worth it?

I am looking into getting a bug deflector but wanted to know if it's really worth it?? I like the look of them.

Bug deflector ftw! dont know about your hood, but mine is fiberglass, and a couple stones that fly up and hit it will fo sho chip it. Bug flector to save your hood..good move

I was following a transport truck last winter. I SAW the rock coming! It hit the top edge of the deflector and absolutely detonated it (at -40 degrees). I shudder to think of the damage if the deflector hadn't caught it. $50.00 for a new deflector versus new windshield is a cheap trade-off. I have deflectors on both my trucks, wife has one on hers (96 Ranger XL). I won't be without a deflector.

I love mine. Does it keep all the bugs off--no. but does it help and look good--yes.

Here is the Lund Low-Profile one I have:

It says in the reviews that it is not easily attached. How would I go about attching it? I'm not looking to drill holes.
