As mentioned in the other hid thread and others These things commonly have harnesses and ballasts bad.... since the lights do work.. i would guess a defective harness.

Any help would be great... this is so silly to me since it's all plug and play and has no connections that are not being used.

How do you have it wired? There are 3 wires in the harness, mine were blue orange and black.

I commented on your post on HID Planent. Switch the orange a blue wires. That is the only thing different between your hookup and mine.

What's the difference with the shrouds? Which one is "better" or is simply just different styles? Also, can you retrofit projector fog lights?

Yep, jus different styles. And sizes so if you order some make sure it will fit the projector.

I want to do this to my 94' but im unsure of everything i need. i know links to the retrofit source have been posted before. im sitting completely stock right now and this is what im looking to get

Bi-xenon Morimoto Mini Stage III Kit (D2S)
Ballasts: Morimoto 3Five 35w (or should i go 55w?)
Bulbs: Phillips 85122+ D2S
Angel Eyes: Yes
Projectors: LHD
Shrouds: Gatling Gun
Wire Harness: 9007/9004

Im also replacing the headlights themselves to ones that are actually clear, i tried restoring mine, but they are just to far gone being 18yrs old

is there anything else im missing?

Looks like the wiring harness that TRS sent me is not compatiable with ford rangers, should have the new one sitting at my door step now.

Once wired up it should work perfectly fine.

Can't wait. Over the weekend I'm going to tweak the mini d2s and get a little more color in them and do a forground limiter shield, it DESPERATLY needs one, can't get over how much light is thrown in front of you...too much actually.

WCC963,
do NOT go with a 55 watt ballast and mini projectors, TRS says that it can deform the shield and or melt the chrome off the bowls... it's not worth it. In a bigger actual real projector then yes but not the mini's

You will have to trim the gatling gun shrouds for the headlights to seal back together.. Normally you see the projector lens tucked away in the gatling gun shroud... I will take pictures of mine, but my lens actually sticks out past the shroud which is the look I was going for rather than recessed..

Stock, zero tweaking.

The garage is slanting to the right so the wall is angled.

I will get a better picture once I do some things.

i actually called and asked the TRS guys about using 55 watt HIDs with the mini d2s projectors. they said that they have gotten feedback from a bunch of people about running 55w with no problems. they just haven't done their own tests. so it's at least possible.

i would suggest fxr over d2s mini, harder to install, but better results

It MAY be done but everything I've read and talked with TRS they don't recommend it...

Why chance a 55 watt HID in a chinese small projector..? If you are going OEM then sure that's fine it can handle it but from everything I've seen in pictures I wouldn't risk it at all.

meh, if it melts then it gives me a better reason to upgrade to fx-r projectors lol. i've had 55w in the minis for 3 months now.

Just an update for everyone my moto control harness from RFC works great. My first controller was defective but they sent another and it works great now.

My set up is d2s 55 ballasts and the new moto control harness.
