3five is 35 watt, 5five is 55 watt. 55 watt is brighter. you can always go to somewhere like ddmtuning.com to get your hid kit, cheaper from them and mine are doing great after a few years.

once you screw them in, you need to aim them by getting the cutoff level, then up/down and side/side aiming. the aiming was the hardest part on mine

Oh that makes sense on the watts lol. is it safe to run 55W? How is the aiming done? once they are on the truck or do you have to aim the projectors first in relation to the housing and then mount and aim again?

i called TRS last week asking if 55 watt were ok, as i wanted to upgrade. they said that people have had them in their mini d2s for years with no issues. they will melt the mini h1 units though. to aim mine, i went to a level area and parked like 20' or so in front of a wall at night. i put the projectors in and turned them on, then removed the housing and rotated them by hand till they were level. doing one at a time is easier.

Are they 55s in the pics you posted? I'm assuming they would be just making sure tho.

Yup. 55's in the projectors and 55's in the off-road lights.

One last question. The Moritomos you linked, are they the best they can be or can they modified with better lense or something? I wanna try and do as much as i can while the headlights are open. I wanna black it all out too i think

Every vehicle I pass with HIDs during the dark, I want to take a hot bulb and use it to weld their arse hole shut.

I guess this is the new cool thing to do. Like those loud mufflers, or underbody lights, or those huge spoilers. Can't wait for this fad to pass.

They're about as good as they're going to get. The FX-R's are quite a bit better. Also quite a bit more expensive. In order of price and quality:

Morimoto Mini H1 > Morimoto Mini D2S > FX-R

You're not seeing people with projectors then. Projectors do not interfere with the vision of oncoming traffic. Quite the opposite actually. You're seeing poorly aimed plug-n-play kits.

What your saying here is H1's are better than D2s, and the Fxr is the worst of the 3. I think your intent was the reverse of this.

I would have to say I prefer the output of my H1's over the D2S, because I have both, but the D2S is a much easier install.

The FXR's however, rule supreme.

I was using > as an arrow, not a greater than. Though I can see how it looked like that. So here's a modified version..

Morimoto Mini H1 -> Morimoto -> Mini D2S -> FX-R

Can someone help me ... I got the projector retro up and going.. have the plug and play harness from RTS... First I turned on the headlights and high beams were on...

Thinking it was a wire, I moved one of the wires from the plug (that goes into stock headlight socket) and now I get the low beams but when I click the high beams it shuts the lights off..

I get the following combination:

Low beam - no light. High beam - yes light
Low beam - yes light. High beam - no light
Low beam - yes light, high beam indicator in dash always on.

Any help would be great... this is so silly to me since it's all plug and play and has no connections that are not being used.

morimoto mini d2s, entire kit, 9007/9004 harness relay..etc.
