Modding/Cutting Fender Wells
Has anyone cut or trimmed their fender wells for more clearance? Not too worried about aesthetics but Id like to fit slightly bigger tires for ground clearance but Im not too into body lifts at all, and Im saving for a possible SAS so no suspension lift in the near future for me.
Ive seen it done to hardcore 4x4 rigs but Im not sure of the specifics of it other than it will require a sawzall.
So what say you people? inb4 Dont mutilate that beautiful Ranger!
Ive no set course of action but I am still trying to determine the future of my truck still...So many possible options...

Re: Modding/Cutting Fender Wells
Ive seen it done too, not in person yet. Im just wondering what it will take to make it look clean and keep stuff out of the engine bay like the stock wheel wells mostly block stuff out.

Re: Modding/Cutting Fender Wells
I've noticed in your sig, that you mentioned nothing about your truck having a lift. why not get a lift, insteads of cutting up your truck ??

Rear cut about 3", including removal of inner fender well.
Front cut about 3", including removal of inner fender well.

Re: Modding/Cutting Fender Wells
I would just crank the t0bars and run 32s until you get around to doing the SAS. That way your not cutting sheet metal on a relatively new truck.

Those pics are with no body lift, around 5" lift on 37's. The front axle is also moved about 3" forward. I trimmed just outside of the factory flares. And for comparison, before trimming:
