I believe when people make the custom emblems, they've been sanding the silver out from inside the "lens." As in softening up some 320 grit stearated sandpaper and working it around with some type of edged tool. That's my guess.

Back in the day when I was building scale models, if you wanted to remove chrome plating from plastic model parts, you just soaked em over night in full strength bleach. that and a lil steel wool would remove the chrome. i dont know if this is the same, but it may be worth a shot

lol never mind. No one is reading the post.... I dont want the chrome off just the lettering in the emblems.

Im not removing the chrome. Like i said before i want to remove the silver lettering from inside the emblem. The ford lettering.

I was picturing something abrasive that could be worked into little crevices. He brought up steel wool in his post. Adding better practicality over my suggestion of using softened up sandpaper.

Getting the chrome out of the letters will be a challenge. sand blast maybe?
