For those with CB Antennas on their trucks, how did you route the cable into the cab from outside?

I was shying away from just closing the door on it, I ruined my old K30 on another vehicle doing that. Are there any grommets or knockouts in the firewall to run a cable through? I was thinking of going down between the bed and the cab, along the undercarriage and up through the driver's side firewall. Would this work?

I just close mine in the door. Its easy and when i park or leave my truck I take it all and throw it in the cab.

There are grommets under the floor padding behind the seats.

I'll have a look at the way the back door closes, to see if there are any bad pinch points. and I'll also have a look for the floor grommets.

The floor grommets are the best way. Find one at the back of the cab to minimize the amount of cable you have exposed to the under-body elements. Once you find a suitable grommet, cut a slot in the side of it or cut an X in the center of the grommet to accept the cable. This allows the grommet to be reused for it's original purpose, and keep the cable from chafing on the sharp edge of the grommet hole. Once you get the cable through run it under your carpet/vinyl floor to the front of the truck and to wherever you are gonna mount the radio.

I ran mine though the passenger side door, where the cables for the door leave the cab, through the front body panel then under the frame to the back of the truck.

Hopefully that makes sense, if not I can take a few pics. Its not as complicated as it sounds. I am just bad at explaining things.

O, I dont know what to tell you then haha. Just go thru the door somewhere

Do your self and your cb a favor and do it right before you short loop your antenna wire and burn up your cb's transmitter. Get under your truck and look near the back of you cab for the grommets and use a razor knife to cut a slit in the grommets to push your wire through. If you pinch the internals of the wire and they short out you get no reception and have no transmission range. Would basically be like not having an antenna at all.

Depending o what cab config you have, for the 2 dr super cab, there is a grommet going right under the cab, where the door pilar is. Goes to the inside of the door pillar, and thats where I have mine going.

are you useing a magnet antenna cus thats what i have(and will be getting rid of) i have it run up the drive door jam and then on my roof which is where my magnet is. im getting rid of it because while off roading it came off mulitple times and was a pain to reach up and fix it while the truck was covered in 3" thick mud haha
