I've got a Protech 'cab gaurd' as they call it. All aluminum and absolutely gorgeous. I use it every so often with ladders or wood....I'm a freak and put a blanket or towel between the rack and the part being secured...don't wanna scratch the powder coat. lol. Anyway....works well and does it's job. I've been thinking that if I get back into the trade, I may go ahead and get a rear hoop and powder coat it to match...makes me a full lumbar rack for pipe.

Going steel and having someone build you one is alot cheaper than a ProTech, I built one in high school simulating the Protech look.

Protech:

After powdercoat...

Protech has their alum tubing done for them exclusively....it's all their design. It's actually a octogon with a notch cut out of it. Most who build their own racks, including mine I built in highschool modeled after a ProTech, was done out of 2x2x1/8" square tubing. Basically thin hitch stock. Looks great and looks right.

If you're having a hard time finding expanded that big, you need to be looking elsewhere.... find a local steel supply yard, not the local hardware store. My local steel yard has TONS of big hole expanded. Up to 4 or 5" I believe.

Who the fuck cares? It's on topic and at least it's not a stupid post like "lol" or "that looks good" or "welcome"...... His thread bump is totally valid.
