The "headlight mod" on this site has nothing to do with "better output" or anything; it is just painting your headlights black. If I were you, I would save your money and invest in some retro fit projectors. I myself actually retrofit projectors in headlights for people that have never done it before. You can PM me and I can help you with that or if you have other questions or concerns, PM me again and I'll help you out.
I'm not too worried about the retrofit, I've done my fair share of wiring and modifications. thanks tho!

Just trying to get some feedback on lights, really the stocks are probably the best set of lights that I've had in a vehicle. They're a little glazed over so I'm probably going to clean em up some and then put a brighter bulb in them.

part of this whole fiasco was just trying to figure out what projectors really are anyway LOL

Well, if you go to http://www.theretrofitsource.com/, it will show you what projectors are and give you some example pictures for each. I wouldn't recommend putting in brighter bulbs such as a higher wattage bulb because our factory headlight wiring harnesses are only meant for a certain amount of wattage. Having a higher wattage bulb might increase a possible risk of having a fire started from your harness. Unless if you go with HIDs, the bulbs are connected to a ballast and then to a relay so everything will be good. That and for HIDs, you can go up to a max wattage of 55.

oh lol...they work just like the name implies...they project the light out of the lens rather than the factory housings that just reflect it

I guess to put it simple, projectors are lights that don't blind people and provides the most maximum output you can get out of a light! Some projectors are low beam only and some have both high and low beam. "Retrofitting" means you have to cut your headlights in order for the projectors to fit. They work just as your stock lights but provide better clarity, visibility and safety on the roads.

yeah I've seen the results from people on the forums here doing the retrofit. I really like how projectors cut off the light above a certain level. Once i save up some $$ I might run the projectors. The problem is my mustang needs some more attention too...lol...

wrt the higher wattage bulbs....has anyone run separate relays with a higher gauge wire?? Just curious. I'm going to be ordering up some 100W lights to put on my bumper soon...so those should suffice
