Default Rock Sliders

Did a search and didnt come up with much on this subject. Gonna google it once Im home but want some input from Ranger owners as well.

My truck came with sidesteps and they got bent up pretty bad really fast from the bit of off roading Ive done. Last night I removed them before they fell off. So now Im looking into getting some rock sliders made to protect my body and possible form the base of an exo-roll cage one day.

So Im wanting any input anyone has on this. I have a local friend who will be willing to do the welding work just need an idea on how to mount them, ideas for the design and possible material needs.

And Ill add to this some myself later tonight once Ive done some googling. Got alot of work I want to get done to my truck...

A major question I have up front is how to coat any metal addons I make. I had a custom bumper made and the people that made it just spray painted the bumper and that is already easily chipping off and the metal under has minor surface rust. I want to know how to protect this stuff properly so that it will last the life of my truck or if I should worry about it all...

For a custom made bumper i would por 15 it or have it bedlined. its a bumper its gonna get sratched.

As for the sliders you could always look into some for an x-cab yota and fab them up so they fit properly.

I understand its going to get scratched up, I just dont want it to rust off one day. Ill look into bedliner probably. Its going to be a pain to get it repainted properly though, I already know.

I might look into some pre-made rock sliders but I have someone that will do the welding work for tips+the experience as long as I buy the materials.

if you get sliders from an extra cab tacoma they fit right on the ranger, rstangboi has them. he got them from trail gear and they are cheap!
