Default Should I get a Bed Mat

Hey guys, I was in the market of buying some bed protection (I was under the impression that my Ranger had a ford bedliner but did not). my budget is small so a spray in is not an option (i can't do and dont want to do it myself) and I saw what a drop in does for your bed (scratches, dings, rust, garbage accumalation, etc)

Drop in is $200, so I would have to wait but still don't like the negatives

Bed Mat should be cheaper (havent priced it yet) I know it doesnt protect the sides, but I am an occaisional hauler.

For those of you who have Bed Mats, what do you think of them? Should I get one? How much was yours?

as stated above, Spray in is like $600, while a Diy is $100, but I would f*** it all up and it would cost me the body work of a bed. LOL, unless you come down an do it for me, my budget allows a Bed mat and drop in bed liner. I need it in the next month if I want to take the bikes out.

it is NOT stated above lol

well i guess it depends on ur goal and what ur trying to protect....

i like grip and protection. bed mats provide grip over the drop in but drop ins protect "everything"

Anywho, I just want to protect the bed from the odd time I carry bicycles, coolers, fishing and camping gear. at least the bed mat would provide grip for those items, while the bedliner provides fender protection (while destroying the fenders and rails at the same time).

I just think that its might best option, I just wanted to see if other ppl had experiences with them first, I might price one this week and if its a good price and the reviews from FRF are good, then I will get one ASAP. . we will just blame the fact you didnt see it on the fact that your love sick

bed mats are shit. had one in my dads truck, it just falls apart and after you get rid of it, you have a floor that looks new and sides that look like they went through a tornado. spend the extra and get a bedliner.

my 2011 came with an OEM tailgate protector (looks like drop in bedliner plastic) so I wouldn't need that So that's official, she's back???? (we are way off topic, but its worth it )

I have a ford rubber bed mat - selected as part of the $1000. in options/incentive... I helped a friend move and some screws on the furniture scratched the side of my wheel wells

Had the Line-x spray-in done and kept the rubber mat on top for a while. Very good protection with both.

Found that the rubber mat 'scrunches-up' when loading my atv and when again when loading a scooter in the bed. Water sits underneath the mat and may eventually drain/dry but i dont like it.

The mat is now rolled up in my garage. Will most likely keep it handy for the odd chance of carrying bricks or such...
