Default have any painting tips?

I just power washed my under body of my truck with a industrial power washer and slapped on a bunch of rustoleum. I painted my grill gaurd too with it. I baught the rustoelium hammerd. It has a really sick texture and color to it. I have never really panted anything but could I sand my trucks lower half body lines, paint a primer then put that oil based rustoleum hammerd paint on my truck? Would it stay? Could I do it to my flairs? What grit sand paper?

Default Re: have any painting tips?

From my understanding an oil based primer will stick to steel sheetmetal but oil based paint isn't designed to stand the abused automotive paint does. It won't flex once it dries and even though you don't see it your RBV body does flex. If you want to paint / protect the rocker panel area stick with automotive paint or the roll on bed liner stuff.

Besides it would look........not right??? Maybe different.
