Not sure but most auto parts stores sell the stuff so you could pick up a tube and try, the stuff is fairly cheap.

Your uncle will probably point you to something like this, a 3M stripe/decal remover wheel. Much safer then a razor blade and a lot faster then fingernails and goo gone.

X2 on the eraser wheel! Doesn't have to be a 3M brand, though, lol.

I just used it to take the gunk off the side of my Silverado after removing the chrome pieces. Took about an hour to do the entire bed, but about 20 minutes of that was peeling off the other side pieces, lol. Just be careful not to stay in one spot for too long, or you'll burn off the clear coat. I did in a couple of places on mine, but I'm ok with that since it's getting bed lined here soon.

Not sure if the 3M brand wheels will do it, but my off brand one became "out of round" so to speak. Instead of being a perfect circle, it is now a fucked up oval, lol. If that happens, it'll bounce around a lot, and may even bounce itself out of the chuck of your drill (had mine tightened with retard strength and it STILL popped out).
