When sitting in the drivers seat and looking out the drivers side window you can see the "felt" type of material on the back side of the door rubber that rubs up against the bottom of window glass. Is this for looks or does it help to keep water out of the door? That "felt" material is coming off of the back side of the rubber on my new truck. Every time I lower and raise the window, a little more of that "felt" backing comes off.

This is not worded very well, but I hope you know what I am talking about.
