Default WTF, Black Nail Polish...

Some old man I ran into this past friday stopped me at a local gas station. He complemented me apon my truck's good looks. He said he looked at it and recomended "black nail polish" to fix the nicks and peeling paint on the front end from where I've been driving it and all of the bugs and debris have started to cause the paint to peel. I politely said I'll look into that. when I left and got to where I was going I let out a blood curdeling laughter that scared people away. WTF was this old guy thinking I don't want to know. Nail polish as patch paint, L.O.L.

That's about the category I'd put it in. "the ricer" category.

Yeah but it would look like crap though. A refinishing job would be what I need, not a touch up. I've got some really bad dings in the bed from where I used my truck and it requires alot of body work to fix those dings.

L.O.L. I do that just getting out of my driveway. Basicly mine just needs a new paint job, headliner, and a new rear window seal. After those I'm good to go. I think that old man is a bit senile. He was the same guy that swore mine was a V8 and even after I showed him it wasn't he still swore it was a V8. I wish he'd leave me the hell alone and worry about his own truck.

Nope it's a standard cab. I want to get one of those ABS snap in headliners for it. Yeah that old man loves my ranger, but for damn sure he aint getting it, not unless he wants to pry the keys from my kold dead hands. That's the only way he'll get it from me.

No doubt, L.O.L. He's actually tried to buy it off me twice but he can't understand the words: HELL NO. This was my first new vehicle ever and the previous vehicles were used Rangers. The Blue Oval runs deep in my family. Goes all the way back to my great grandfather. I bleed Blue Oval.

I was actually going to pick a color of nail polish to paint my truck in the same color. It's easy cheap fix it if you don't want to waist the time fixing it properly for such small little nicks. In my case forking out a bunch of money to repaint the damn thing if it got past the point of being nice. Nail polish is just good for the odd spot here and there.

Mine still looks good except for the huge ding in the bed from hauling wood, but when you get up close to the passenger side front fender it's cracked and looks like it's starting to peel. I hit a deer in 2005 and Randy Cook's autobody botched the paint. The condition appeared 1 year to the date after it was repaired. I've got too much body work for nail polish to fix.

Agh I see, I could understand if it was a little chip here and there but someone suggesting that for something bigger... Weird.
Hm
