Default Seeking Info on Ranger Bed Sizes/Choices

Hello everyone.

Newbie here. Searching for a pre-owned Ranger. Can anyone point me to a link or any source of info regarding the different bed choices and sizes ...including dimensions? I know there are six and seven-foot beds, but I also see some stepside/flaresides out there. How much smaller is the stepside/flareside (or whatever you call it) bed capacity versus the regular 6-foot bed? I'm finding some Rangers I like (Sport?), and they are equipped with the flared fenders so the bed appears to be smaller (in photos, at least). Am I giving up a lot of cargo capacity with those?

Thanks!

the step side beds were discontinued after 2005
yes, the step side bed has a smaller capacity than the style side (regular) 6 foot bed.
7 foot beds are only available on fleet models.

I don't know of a chart that gives you the size but I will say this about the stepside. If you do any kind of home improvments that you will be using your truck to haul supplies and some of those supplies happen to be 4'x8' sheets of plywood / sheetrock, you will kick yourself when you go to take it home (the width of the bed is about 3'6" if I remember right). My father has a 2000 stepside Ranger that he bought because he liked the look of it. A month later he needed to get some plywood and when he went to get it home ended up cutting it in half and turning the sheets into 4'x4' pieces that could fit in at a slant sidways in the bed. Now he just calls me though since I have a full bed on my Ranger.

Thanks for the info! I do like the look of the stepside, for sure, and I don't plan to do a LOT of hauling, but I do, indeed, plan to be doing some remodeling work for a few months that will actually require spaciousness, so GhostRanger's advice is very welcomed by me. Much as I like the stepside bed, I'll definitely look for a styleside, thanks to GhostRanger's warning!
