Default Painted Question

Hey i recently painted my front trim and my rear bumper on my truck. We had some rain the other day and i notice the paint had got some white spots in it when i dryed. I am wondering is this because i didnt put enough coats on or what? I am probably going to have to repaint it. But i did not put a clear coat on it.

Soo could it be because i didnt put a clear coat that is happing or not enough coats because i only put 1 coat on there and it looked good. But when the rain hit it I seen some whiteish spots.

I also used krylon paint so please dont say I used a cheap quailty paint. Because i used a good brand

ohh..
I know what the problem is. Is it because i put wax on the paint, and that messed it up. I heard i could use that for protection but i guess the paint didn't react so well to it.

Did you take the bumper off to paint it? If so, how long did you let it dry? Personally I would have put way more than one coat on it and let it dry for at least two days....

I re-did the paint and i put about 2 coats on there plus the coat i already had on there.. Soo basically 3 coats but 2 fresh coats! I did not remove the bumper... I just used news paper and paint tape for the whole thing. Everything is good soo far, we had some rain and the paint is still holding! Soo hopefully i am good

+1. If you put a lot of coats on, it will make things glossy. Not sure if you want that or not. But if you just do a light coat, it'll really help protect the paint.

I just did this for the lower valence with 3-4 coats of krylon fusion aswell. It has been raining and I have no problem. As soon as I get some time to sand the "rub strip" on the upper part of the bumper, I'll get it in black too.

Glad you figured it out.
